Company History

Stephen and Linda Stone founded Friends of Veterans in December of 2006. Their goal was to assist senior veterans and their families obtain what has been commonly known as the “Aid and Attendance Special Pension.” The couple harbored a passionate desire to show their gratitude for all of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.  This “Benefit” helps disabled senior veterans and their surviving spouses defray the costs of long-term care. Working primarily in Clark County, Nevada, the Stones provided their educational expertise and assistance and succeeded in submitting hundreds of claims, all at no cost, to veterans or their families.

In May of 2009, the legal documentation was submitted to the Internal Revenue Service to become a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit, Public Charity. Additionally, the company changed their name to Veterans Angels, Inc. and selected a Board of Directors to be the governing body of the newly formed corporation. On September 15, 2009, Veterans Angels, Inc., received confirmation of their tax-exempt status and received their EIN # 27-0204290. The Effective Date of Exemption for the new company is listed as May 1, 2009, and contributions to the new organization became fully deductible under Section 170 of the Code. Veterans Angels, Inc. is also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers and gifts under Section 2055, 2106 and 2522 of the Code.
